Handball: DAZN broadcasts German games in the EHF Cup

The live streaming provider DAZN has secured the exclusive broadcasting rights for the EHF Handball Cup for the current season and the 2019/20 season. With the start of the group phase on 9 and 10 February 2019, DAZN will show all group matches of the German teams live and exclusively in Germany and Austria.

The former Bundesliga series champion THW Kiel, defending champion Füchse Berlin and TSV Hannover-Burgdorf are represented in the competition.

Besides the matches of the German teams DAZN broadcasts the Final Four (17th to 19th May 2019) as well as selected matches of other teams. “With three German teams in the group phase, there is great interest in the Men’s EHF Cup on the German market,” said David Szlezak, Managing Director of EHF Marketing GmbH, which is part of the European Handball Federation: “We are delighted to have won DAZN as a broadcast partner.

After the Champions League, the EHF Cup is the second most important European club competition and has long been dominated by German clubs. In the past 15 years, the winning team came from Germany 14 times.

Besides handball DAZN has many other sports to offer. For example, WTA tennis, darts events, boxing and MMA fights can be followed on the platform. DAZN will also be showing selected games from the four major US sports leagues NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB.
