Frank Warren, the promoter of Tyson Fury, believes that his client’s 80 per cent performance against Deontay Wilder is enough to win. “I think Klitschko was the much better opponent,” said Warren before the heavyweight fight on Sunday (3am LIVE on DAZN).
Warren goes into battle with the same confidence as Fury himself. “If you compare the opponents who defeated Klitschko and defeated the savages, there is no competition at all,” said the promoter. Fury had defeated Klitschko in November 2015 and ended the Ukrainian’s career.
Fury himself went through a difficult time afterwards, but he came back stronger. “He now had two easy wins, two fights, before which he had to train more for the weight than for the fight. I think if he only gets 80 percent of what he showed against Klitschko, he’ll beat that guy,” Warren said.
His client is the much more “intelligent boxer” and would be “one of the most difficult” in the ring. Fury knows exactly about his weaknesses and strengths: “The only question is actually whether the boxer from the past is still in him. We haven’t seen him yet.”
After his comeback, Fury prevailed against Albanian Sefer Seferi and Italian Francesco Pianeta. He goes into the fight against Wilder with a score of 27-0. Whatever you think about him, he was born to fight. You have to take your hat off from him for that,” Warren concluded.
The battle between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will be broadcast on December 2 by the DAZN streaming portal. In Germany the fight starts around 3 o’clock in the morning MEZ. Wilder currently has a balance of 40-0 and won against Luis Ortiz and Bermane Stiverne.
