Ski Alpin: Hirscher back! German leads in Beaver Creek

Marcel Hirscher narrowly missed the lead in the 1st round of the giant slalom of Beaver Creek (USA, now in the LIVETICKER). While he beat his permanent rival Henrik Kristoffersen by two hundredths of a second on the Birds-of-Prey track, Stefan Luitz set the best time.

The German drove 15/100 faster than Hirscher in his first race after having survived a cruciate ligament rupture. Manuel Feller, who had started the race ahead of Hirscher and Kristoffersen, retired after just seven driving seconds.

The second round starts at 8.45 pm. Further information will follow shortly.
