Kyrie Irving of Boston Celtics apparently twisted his right shoulder in a 128-100 win over New York Knicks. However, the Point Guard now gives the all-clear, he has probably not suffered any worse injury.
There were only three minutes left on the clock and the match was already decided when the 26-year-old felt a pinch in his shoulder. Kyrie was then replaced and cooled with ice.
After the final whistle, he described the course of his injury: “I don’t know. It’s as if something had caught me, I tried to take the ball outside and pass it to Marcus (Morris) for a threesome. And it made my shoulder feel kind of weird.”
The Point Guard said the following about the diagnosis: “I went to the doctors afterwards and they said it was probably something at the shoulder joint or something like that, but I’d be fine.”
Until his substitution, Kyrie played 22 points (9/15 FG) and 8 assists. Since November 1, he has scored an average of 24.8 points per match, throwing 50.5 percent off the field and 41.9 percent downtown.
