Brees with mega-donation

NFL superstar Drew Brees is making a strong statement in the corona crisis. The home of the Saints is particularly hard hit.

Quarterback Drew Brees (41) of the New Orleans Saints wants to support needy people in the US state of Louisiana during the corona crisis with a generous donation.

The NFL star is providing five million dollars to provide meals for people in need.

“The priority now is to help our communities get through this difficult time,” Brees wrote on social networking sites.

The city of New Orleans is one of the regions in the United States most affected by the pandemic. Saints coach Sean Payton was the first person in the NFL to test positive for corona virus.
