New mission for Kaepernick

Member of the board of an online publishing house that promotes civil rights.

Colin Kaepernick joins the online platform Medium as a board member.

In addition, the publisher is entering into a cooperation with Kaepernick’s company “Kaepernick Publishing” “to publish stories about civil rights in America”, said Medium founder Evan Williams.

The 32-year-old Kaepernick wrote on Twitter that he is looking forward to “creating new opportunities for black writers”. Medium reaches around 170 million readers monthly on the Internet with various blogs.

Kaepernick protests against police violence as early as 2016
In September 2016, Kaepernick, who had fallen out of favour in the professional league NFL, had initiated the “Take a Knee” movement as a sign of protest against racism and police violence in the USA.

During the national anthem, which is played before every game, the star quarterback of that time got down on his knees. He had caused a worldwide sensation. Since the discussion about this gesture, he can no longer find a job in the NFL.
