Donald Trump criticizes the kneeling of the NBA stars during the National Anthem. Lakers star LeBron James responds to the statements. He doesn’t care about them.
US President Donald Trump has once again criticized the kneeling of athletes during the US national anthem.
“I think it’s pathetic,” he told Fox, referring to the NBA restart where almost all the players and coaches kneeled during the national anthem.
“We worked hard with the NBA to get them to play again and now I see everybody kneeling during the national anthem. This is not acceptable to me,” Trump continued.
He also explained that if he saw people kneeling down and not respecting the US flag and anthem, he simply turned off the TV.
LeBron James: “We don’t care at all”
The echo from the NBA was not long in coming. After the Los Angeles Lakers’ defeat by Oklahoma City Thunder, Trump critic LeBron James declared, “I don’t think the basketball community is sad to lose him as a spectator.
The game would continue without Trump’s watching. “I can sit here and speak for all who love the game: We couldn’t care less,” said LeBron. The 35-year-old denied any further comments on the Trump statement. “That’s all I have to say. Otherwise, I know where this is going.”
But he made another appeal to the world. “I hope everyone, regardless of race or color, sees what kind of leadership we have at the top of our country and that November is just around the corner. It’s a great moment for us Americans.
