ATP: Pete Sampras believes in Rafael Nadal in Grand Slam title race

Will Rafael Nadal win more Grand Slam titles than Roger Federer?Pete Sampras believes in the strengths of the Spaniard.

Pete Sampras won his 14th place at the US Open 2002.and last Grand Slam title. The Grand Slam record of “Pistol Pete” lasted just under seven years.Roger Federer outstripped Sampras at the 2009 Wimbledon Tournament with his 15th place.Grand Slam triumph. But Federer, meanwhile with 19 “Major”trophies in his account, could soon loose his top spot in this list of the best.

Rafael Nadal is still breathing down his neck and has moved up to three Grand Slam titles after winning the US Open. While Toni Nadal has already announced that his nephew will end Federer’s Grand Slam record and that he will continue to do so.Sampras also believes in Nadal, as he told The Independent.

“It’s up to Rafa and how much he wants to play and loves the game. When he says,”Guys, I’ll play until I’m 35,” I’d say he’s got a good chance of making it.If you look at mathematics, he has a lot of chances to win majors. He has the heart and the mind to keep winning Slams. He will always be a favourite at the French Open.Wimbledon will be stressful, but he will also be one of the favourites for the other two slams. It’s up to him if he wants to play until the middle of his thirties, just like Roger.”
