Biathlon: Biathlon-DM: Dahlmeier remains without title

Five-time world champion Laura Dahlmeier (Partenkirchen) remained without a title at the German Biathlon Championships at the Arber.After finishing third in the sprint on Saturday, the 24-year-old took second place in Sunday’s pursuit on ski scooters, and last winter’s high-flyer Denise Herrmann (Oberwiesenthal) had to admit defeat of Denise Herrmann (Oberwiesenthal) over 10 km.Third place went to Nadine Horchler (Willingen).

Herrmann had already triumphed in the sprint over 7.5 km ahead of Maren Hammerschmidt (Winterberg) and Dahlmeier.For the former cross-country skier, these were the first German championship titles.Herrmann, who had been Olympic rider with the cross-country relay team in Sochi in 2014, switched to the ski hunters in the 2016/17 season.In March she won her first Biathlon World Cup race with the women’s relay.

In the men’s event, world champion Simon Schempp (Uhingen) won the pursuit race on Sunday 12.5 km ahead of Erik Lesser (Frankenhain) and Benedikt Doll (Breitnau).On the previous day, Doll had won the sprint over 10 km ahead of Matthias Dorfer (Marzoll) and Schempp.
