TSV Hannover-Burgdorf has continued its triumphal march in the HBL thanks to a furious race to catch up.The surprise team won the top match against SC Magdeburg 32:30 (13:17) after a long time lag and celebrated their fifth win in the fifth game. The foxes from Berlin, who won at Aufsteiger TV Hüttenberg with 30:28 (16:16) and now have 6:0 points, will continue to stand without a loss point.
Leader of the standings, Hanover, however, got off to a weak start, but turned up the heat after the break. The Lower Saxony turned a 14:20 into a 22:22 at first and also had the better nerves in the final phase.
The Dane Casper Ulrich Mortensen was the hosts with nine goals to his advantage, while fellow countryman Mads Christiansen even scored twelve goals for Magdeburg (6:6 points).
“We are very happy.Magdeburg has been better for a long time, but my team has always believed in itself and came back.We have a small run at the moment and hope that it will continue a little longer,”said Hanover coach Carlos Ortega.
The foxes scored their third win in the third game. The Serbian Petar Nenadic, with nine goals, was the star of the capital.Hüttenberg is still waiting for the first win of the season (1:9).
MT Melsungen received a slight damper. The team, which at the beginning of the season was heavily upgraded in terms of personnel, did not come out above a 26:26 (12:13) at the TBV Lemgo and had to score points again after three successes in series.
European champion Julius Kühn, who came to MT from former champion VfL Gummersbach, scored eight goals and was the best throwers of the guests, for whom Dener Jaanimaa from Estonia scored seven goals. For Lemgo, Isaia’s Guardiola (5) hit best.Northern Hesse now have 7:3 points, Berliners have 6:0 points.
The hosts won the derby between TVB Stuttgart and rising star Die Eulen Ludwigshafen 25:22 (13:12) in the final round. The Stuttgart team (4:4) thus moved into the middle of the standings, Ludwigshafen (2:8) remaining in the relegation fight.
Former world champion Michael Kraus, who suffered from an overload reaction in the lumbar spine and was questionable for the game, was able to make it to the top and scored five goals for Stuttgart.
