about the right color for a tennis court, there were already some disputes.Ion Tiriac wanted to play his Madrid tournament on blue sand because of the better ball/square perception on TV, which prompted Roger Federer to ask whether clowns would still appear.Federer ironically won the only event in the blue Caja Mágica in 2012, since then we have switched back to classic red sand.

Blue is popular in other tournaments, however: In 2005, the US Open changed at least the playing field from green to blue, the Australian Open went the whole way in 2008 – and has been completely blue ever since.

Prague is now taking a completely new path: As the first pictures of the Laver Cup show, the court there is completely black!
