NBA: Ainge: Tatum will not be Rookie of the Year

Celtics GM Danny Ainge has commented on Jason Tatum’s chances of becoming Rookie of the Year.

Ainge assumes that the No. 3-Pick will have a good career in the long run – but it won’t be enough for the rookie of the year.Ainge told the Boston Globe:”Terry Rozier and Marcus Smart will take a big step forward this season. They’re ready. With Jason Tatum, on the other hand, we can have more patience.”

For the Rookie of the Year Award it will not be enough because Tatum has too much competition on his position “We have to see how many minutes he will see. However, I’m not worried that he’s going to be fine – but there will be rookies this season that last up to 35 minutes per game. Then it’s gonna be hard for Jason.”
