Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers is happy after his long-term contract extension. He wants to stay on the ground despite all the millions.
By 2025, Draisaitl has committed itself to Edmonton – and will earn around 7.3 million euros a year, which is more than decent. But with me as a person, it doesn’t matter. There is also nothing that I will buy directly now,”he stated in contrast to the picture.
This hasn’t changed much, not even in his attitude towards his sport:”As a young boy, I haven’t tried to compete with others yet.I just wanted to have fun playing hockey. And it’s still fun and love.Even if it’s my job, of course.”
His father Peter, formerly a successful ice hockey professional himself, does not believe that the millions make a star out of Draisaitl:”Of course, this sum is enormously readable on paper. But nobody has to worry about the boy. He’s still grounded.”
But with Edmonton, however, we want to enter new territory. The Oilers have a bright future ahead of them, at least according to international player Draisaitl:”But Edmonton is heading in the right direction, we have the right people”.
