ATP: Gojowczyk after Zverev task in first final

Qualifier Peter Gojowczyk has reached the first ATP final of his career.The 28-year-old from Munich benefited in the semi-finals of French Metz from Davis Cup player Mischa Zverev’s relinquishment in Hamburg.

At this point in time, the Munich Gojowczyk led 6-3,1-0.In the final match, the world ranking-95th.on Benoit Paire (France/No. 7) or Nikolos Basilaschwili (Georgia).

Davis Cup player Jan-Lennard Struff from Warstein, on the other hand, missed his first tour final.The 27-year-old, who is in eighth position, lost on Saturday in St. Guggenheim.Petersburg in the final round Damir Dzumhur from Bosnia-Herzegovina after 81 minutes 3:6,5:7.

Six days ago, Struff had won against Joao Sousa and thus secured the decisive third point for the German team in the Davis Cup play-off against Portugal, thus securing their class retention.Most recently, he was also in the semi-finals at the Winston-Salem tournament in North Carolina.

Zverev missed his third final on the tour and had to bury his hopes for the first ATP title again.He had already been in the final in Metz in 2010 and lost to the Swiss Stan Wawrinka in Geneva in May.
