Laver Cup: Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal play doubles in the Laver Cup

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have a double shift ahead of them on the second day of the Laver Cup in Prague – and will be competing together in doubles at the end of the day.

Three years ago, in an April fool’s joke, we reported that Roger Federer and Rafael would play doubles together at the French Open and in Wimbledon.The dream double becomes a reality in the Laver Cup.Björn Borg, captain of Team Europe, has nominated the two permanent rivals for the final doubles on day two in Prague.Federer and Nadal will play for Team World with US players Jack Sock and Sam Querrey.

The two superstars have a double shift in front of them and start in the day session in single.Federer’s playing Sam Querrey, Nadal playing Sock.Team Europe leads after the first day with 3:1.On the second day of the Laver Cup there are two points for each victory for the team.

13 o’ clock:

Roger Federer – Sam Querrey

followed by:

Rafael Nadal – Jack Sock

7:00 p. m.:

Tomas Berdych – Nick Kyrgios

Roger Federer/Rafael Nadal – Jack Sock/Sam Querrey

The Laver Cup will be played in three days and twelve matches.Each day there are three individual matches and a doubles match.On Friday and Saturday there is a day session as well as a night session.The Laver Cup will close on Sunday with a day session.

Single and double matches are played in the Laver Cup in best-of-three mode.A match win will bring one point on Friday, two points on Saturday and three points on the final day.In order to win the Laver Cup, the team needs 13 out of 24 possible points.

If points are scored after the 12 matches between Team Europe and the 12:12 World Choice, there will be a decider in doubles on the last day.

In the course of the Laver Cup each player completes a maximum of 2 single games.Four of the six players in each team must compete in doubles, with each doubles combination only allowed to compete together once.
