ATP: Peter Gojowczyk in Chengdu’s last sixteen

Peter Gojowczyk continues to win after his first ATP title.

Peter Gojowczyk has underlined his good form at the ATP World Tour 250 tournament in Chengdu, China.In the first round, the 28-year-old beat Hamburg winner Leonardo Mayer (Argentina) in eighth place 6-2,6-2.After 56 minutes, he converted his second match point.Gojowczyk won his first ATP Tour title in Metz on Sunday.Gojowczyk will face Marcos Baghdatis from Cyprus in the round of sixteen.The Munich-based player is the last remaining German in the field of the 1.138 million dollar hard court event.Jan-Lennard Struff had failed on Tuesday at his opening hurdle.
