The Green Bay Packers (3-1) start Week 4 with a success and the first time leadership in the traditional rivalry with the Chicago Bears (1-3) since 1933.The Packers profited from four Bears turnovers in their clear 35-14 win.
The Bears couldn’t have started the game worse.Aaron Rodgers first put the badly-stricken Packers team in the lead with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams. Then Mike Glennon fumbled deep in his own half after a stripped sack of Clay Matthews to reposition the packers for easy points.
The highly anticipated Bears race game was, after the early and high backlog, meaningless for the first time. After incomprehensible signal calling, Glennon fumbled again at the end of the first quarter when a snap bounced off his knee and the packers were awarded the contract again.
A three-quarters of an hour’s interruption due to a stormy weather seemed to be playing the Bears, but as the Defense Rodgers’ offensive was able to keep a check on them, Glennon handed the momentum back to the hosts with one of two picks.Green Bay, who lost two running backs early in the game in Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams, controlled the game thanks to a versatile offense.
Rookie-running back Aaron Jones in particular took full advantage of his opportunities. The O-Line, which operates without David Bakhtiari and Bryan Bulaga, showed little sign of the abstinence from injury.Rodgers rarely put pressure on the Bears front. The shock moment of the evening was a hard head-to-head hit by Danny Trevathan against Davante Adams. The Packers receiver went unconsciously to the ground and was taken to a hospital for further examination during the match.
Green Bay Packers 2-1 – Chicago Bears 1-2 35:14 (14:0.7:7.7:0.7:7) BOXSCORE
Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers):”I am very proud of my boys in the front. They’ve been fighting all night and they haven’t given us any excuses. You’re a big reason for tonight’s victory.”
Mike Glennon (Chicago Bears):”I just have to get rid of the ball faster.I didn’t like my game but I have to look forward and move on.At the fumble, I was just about to play the check down when I got caught.”
The problems, which had already caused the Packers fans a lot of worries and doubts before the game, were hardly an issue. The Packers-Offense acted fast and with many position changes on the line of scrimmage.Rodgers knew how to bring his receivers into the match via a multitude of short passes, putting Tight End Martellus Bennett in the limelight for the first time.
The Bears front rarely managed to put Rodgers under pressure. The running-game of the packers around Rookie Aaron Jones also benefited from the high movement rate of the Bears-Defense.The backup rolls in the Packers-Line in Lane Taylor, Lucas Patrick and Justin McCray did a very good job.
Just as the Bears got their offense rolling after the long storm break, Mike Glennon stopped Bears momentum with a horrible overthrow. The heavy rain would like to have done the rest, but the pick was clearly on the cap of the former Buccaneers quarterback.
With the ensuing play, Rodgers fired a 58-yard bomb towards Jordy Nelson, who positioned the packers on the 2-yard line for a Rushing score by Aaron Jones.Green Bay controlled the game at will from that moment on.

Before the game, the rookie was the third running back on the Packers Depth chart. From next week on, he will be one of the fantasy football sleepers, that’s for sure. With Ty Montgomery’s rib fracture and the knee injury from his backup Jamaal Williams, Jones moved into the free spot and was often staged by Rodgers.
The manoeuvrable back provided the necessary relief on the ground for 49 yards at 13 carries.Jones broke tackles at the Line of Scrimmage several times and was able to turn No-Gainers into valuable short yardage-plays again and again.Jones was one of several Unsung Heroes in the Packers’ victory. The Back-Spot should be on him in the next weeks.
Mike Glennon must have risen into the team bus to Chicago not only because of the defeat with a bad feeling.Glennon must have lost a lot of credit on the quarterback issue, too.On all three ball losses in the first heat was his name.At least two of them were his responsibility.
The late touchdown drive might have saved him from early benching just before the halftime break.Apart from the turnovers, the whole offense up to that particular drive didn’t look good.Even short passes on the Line Scrimmage were inaccurate. At the end of the third quarter, Glennon finished the game early with his second pick.
