The protests in the NFL against Donald Trump have stopped a week after the hymn dispute broke out. Before the Arizona Cardinals, the entire San Francisco 49ers team knelt on their knees as they played the US national anthem.
In 2016, former 49’s quarterback Colin Kaepernick was the first player to protest against racism in the USA with a kneel.
In addition to the 49ers, stars such as Quarterback Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers) and Running Back Marshawn Lynch (Oakland Raiders) also sent clear signals.Newton raised a fist after scoring a touchdown in the game against the New England Patriots.Lynch wore a T-shirt with the inscription:”Everybody vs.Trump” (“All against Trump”).
All in all, however, the power of the protests diminished, and some of them could be observed as if they were normal, according to the US media. It’s very important that the NFL players will stand tomorrow, and always, when our national anthem is played,” Trump wrote on Saturday (local time) on Twitter:”Respect our flag and our country.”

The 49ers justified their protest as a “gesture of mutual love and brotherhood despite our different origins and beliefs”.He said that he was in no way directed against the country.
