Cycling: Münsterland-Giro: German sprinters defeated

The German sprint elite around the 14-times Tour stage winner Marcel Kittel (Erfurt) and Andre Greipel (Hürth) had to let the Irish Sam Bennett take first place in the nearly 200-kilometre long Münsterland giro.

The 26-year-old from the German team Bora-hansgrohe, the 2014 winner of Rund um Köln, won in the photofinish in front of Phil Bauhaus (Bocholt), Greipel and Kittel.

For Kittel it was the last race for Quick Step, he will change to Katjuscha in 2018, where he will meet Tony Martin among others.The four-time time trial world champion from Cottbus drove in a group of runaways at the Münsterland-Giro, which was caught up shortly before the finish in Münster.
