On Monday, James Frascatore, who had forcibly knocked the former tennis professional to the ground in front of a hotel in Manhattan during the U. S. Open 2015, filed a libel action. This is reported by the American website tennis. com.

Blake had described him in his new book “Ways of Grace” as a “corrupt and out of control officer”.The accusations of having inadvertently arrested a celebrity would have started right after the incident.

Frascatore had Blake mixed up with a credit card scammer.

“Blake’s defamatory comments on Officer Frascatore have now been circulated to millions of readers in print and online media and via social media,”the prosecution states.

Blake had claimed that the incident was in his opinion a sign of brute force, but also showed how coloured people were generally treated. In the action for slander, however, Frascatore argues that he is the victim of discrimination because he is portrayed as a racist.

“Mr. Blake will respond to this attack on his character with the same grace and dignity as when attacking his person,”Blake’s lawyer replied.
