ATP: Clear case against Kyrgios – Nadal ends autumn curse in Beijing

Rafael Nadal has won a tournament after the US Open for the first time since Tokyo 2010.The world number one defeated Nick Kyrgios 6-2,6-1 in the final of the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Beijing.

For the 31-year-old Spaniard, it’s the 75th birthday of his father.ATP title of his career and the sixth in this season.Nadal has now been unbeaten for twelve matches and his last defeat came in the quarter-finals of Cincinnati, beating Kyrgios of all places.

For the Australian, it was a tough sixth final from the start. The early break was not going to work, as the line staff had mistakenly seen a promising ball of the hotspur in the end.Afterwards Nadal took over the initiative more and more and got a lot of break chances.

After six unsuccessful attempts,”Rafa” benefited from an accidental stop ball from the world rankings-19.Kyrgios was pissed off, lost a point for coaching and gave the first round with a double error.

While the 22-year-old Enfant terrible presented himself in an excellent playing mood against Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals, not much came together on the final Sunday.Nadal, who almost had to retire from the first set against Lucas Pouille in round one, had no mercy in the second set and rolled over Kyrgios.

At the latest after the double-break to 4:0 the match was decided. After 1:32 hour a backhand return of the overtaxed Aussies sailed to the end.And Nadal tore his arms up.It was his third victory in the fifth comparison with Kyrgios.
