Davis/Fed Cup: Bruguera new Davis Cup captain in Spain, Medina takes over women

Two-time French Open winner Sergi Bruguera is the new captain of the Spanish Davis Cup team.Anabel Medina takes over the post for the Fed Cup.This was announced by Spain’s RFET tennis association on Sunday.

By mid-month, Conchita Martinez had filled both positions in personal union, releasing the 1994 Wimbledon winner.Martinez has been head of the Fed Cup team since 2013 and has also led the Davis Cup team since 2015.

This year, the Spanish men’s team without star player Rafael Nadal was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Serbia.Bruguera has won its first match in a duel with Great Britain (2nd place).till 4.February).

Medina is supposed to lead the women, who had already failed in the first round against the Czech Republic, back to the World Group I.On the 10th.and 11.In February the team will compete in Italy.
