WTA: Nadal:”She’s a favorite.”

Superstar Rafael Nadal leaves no doubt that he trusts his compatriot Garbine Muguruza with a successful future.

The Spanish flag is currently high on the WTA and ATP rankings.Rafael Nadal is number one again, Garbine Muguruza had to swap places with Simona Halep in the sun and is ranked second in the world ranking.Nevertheless, the 23-year-old is still the most explosive act in women’s tennis. With the Wimbledon victory in July, the Spaniard confirmed her potential and catapulted herself into the circle of favourites for the title at the WTA finals in Singapore in October.

Muguruza’s compatriot Nadal predicts the greatest chances of victory for all participants. The 31-year-old told journalists at the China Open in Beijing:”Garbine still has the greatest potential to win the WTA finals.

“Rafa” has already qualified for the ATP finals with the two Grand Slam titles this year and, alongside Roger Federer, is also a hot candidate for the title of the best eight in London. The fact that Muguruza is a Spaniard makes the 16-time major winner happy. That’s why he keeps his fingers crossed for her at other tournaments:”She’ll also be playing at the Masters and will be a favourite in the tournaments – hopefully she’ll make it.”

Muguruza recently made a statement about her qualification for the finals. At WTA, the two-time Grand Slam winner said:”Every season, my goal is to qualify for Singapore. It just means that you’re one of the top eight,” The early finishes give her extra motivation “It’s my fourth consecutive participation and I have good memories of the city and the tournament.I will try to play my best tennis,”Muguruza added.

At the China Open in Beijing the Spaniard had to pass. The 23-year-old explained that a virus she caught in Wuhan had forced her to give up.In the first round, Muguruza threw the towel against Barbora Strycova in the second set and took time for regeneration.
