ATP-Finals: Thiem secures second participation in the finals

Dominic Thiem has qualified for the ATP World Tour Finals in London for the second time, despite an unsuccessful Asian tour.

The 23-year-old rides to London for the ATP World Tour Finals despite three consecutive defeats.After Rafel Nadal, Roger Federer and his friend Alexander Zverev, the Austrian has qualified for the O2-arena tournament as fourth player at an early stage.

The reason for the qualification is Sam Querrey’s defeat in the second round against Grigor Dimitrov at the Masters in Shanghai.The American missed crucial points in the Race to London to the delight of Thiem.

With 3750 points, the “Dominator” is 250 points above the ATP’s quantification limit.With the title in Rio de Janeiro, the semi-final at the French Open and a total of 46 victories in the season, Thiem secured his second place in the finals after 2016.Last year, he had to admit defeat in the group stages of Novak Djokovic and Milos Raonic, but he celebrated his victory debut against Gael Monfils in the tournament of the best eight.In November, Thiem will now have a second chance to advance against the superstars.
