WTA: Witthöft fails in Linz because of Rybarikova

Carina Witthöft (Hamburg) dropped out of the WTA tournament in Linz in the last sixteen despite a good performance.The 22-year-old was defeated by top seeded Slovak Magdalena Rybarikova after 1:41 hours 6:7 (4:7), 3:6.

Tatjana Maria (Bad Saulgau) had already reached the quarter-finals on Wednesday with a win over Viktoria Kuzmova from Slovakia.In the round of the last eight, the 30-year-old will meet the Czech player Barbora Strycova, who is the second seeded Czech player, on Friday.
