First rain without end, then a thriller in three acts – with the better end for Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

Patience was called for in Hong Kong after continuous rain delayed the final between Pavlyuchenkova and Daria Gavrilova by hours. And there were also breaks in between, among other things at the 5:5 in set three, after Pavlyuchenkova had just served for the match, but had not used two match balls.

At 6:5 she did not serve again, but in the tiebreak she turned a 1:3 gap – and won: 5:7,6:3,7:6 (3).

It’s title number eleven for the 26-year-old Russian, Gavrilova missed her second career and annual title after the premiere triumph in New Haven in the summer.
