ATP: Rusedski:”Murray will win majors again”

Long-term injured Briton Andy Murray receives support from a former pro who continues to predict major victories.

Last Sunday, the Murray camp confirmed that the Briton will not return to the tour in 2017.

Murray retired from the Master’s 1000 tournament in Paris Bércy, closing his season after the 30-year-old’s number one start into the year as the world’s number one.

Now, an ex-professional has awarded Murray a continuing successful future.Murray’s compatriot Greg Rusedski spoke out in another big title for the triple Grand Slam title:”When his fitness comes back, his hip problems get better and he will win majors again”, Rusedski was quoted on tennisworldusa. org.

Rusedski, who for years held the record for the fastest victory on the ATP Tour, did not doubt the mental constitution of the ex-number-one, but believed that the body was decisive for Murray.

The current number three in the world started the year 2017 with the tournament victory in Doha and has been struggling with a persistent hip injury since the summer. The two-time Wimbledon winner swears off an operation and since then has been trying to get a grip on rehabilitation and fitness problems.

Murray’s game is characterized above all by enormous stamina and a strong physicality – Rusedski agrees:”Murray is above all physical for me,”the 44-year-old added.

The British player’s comeback is expected at the Brisbane tournament in early January to prepare for the Australian Open.Murray went down as the loser of the first Grand Slam of the year in five final appearances in “Down Under”. In 2018, the title in Melbourne is expected to work for the first time.
