ATP: Kyrgios also ends his season prematurely

Nick Kyrgios has ended his season prematurely due to a hip injury. The 22-year-old told us on Thursday via Twitter:”This is how I can relax and prepare for the Australian summer tournaments in the best possible way,” wrote the Australian, known as the enfant terrible of the ATP tour.

The injury has plagued him since the London Queens Club tournament in June, Kyrgios said.

“This year did not go as I had wished, especially in the Grand Slams,” Kyrgios said:”It’s no secret that I had my problems outside the tennis court.

Kyrgios, who repeatedly suffers emotional outbursts and dropouts, is not the first renowned professional to end his season prematurely. Previously, Olympic champion Andy Murray (Great Britain), Novak Djokovic (Serbia) and Stan Wawrinka (Switzerland) had already said goodbye to the winter break.
