ATP Challenger/Futures: Young people fail due to experience

The Austrian youngster Jurij Rodionov must admit defeat to the experience of Mikhail Youzhny after a close match in the Challenger semi-final in Ningbo.

In the first set, the young Austrian missed the start and was immediately confronted with a break for his opponent. The 18-year-old was trailing this gap until he lost 3:6.

Rodionov started the second set better and held up well until 2-2 before losing his serve again. The Austrian could not make the necessary accents at Youzhny’s serve and finally was beaten 3:6 and 4:6.

In the final in China, Youzhny will now face the Japanese Tara Daniel, who benefited from a loss of his opponent Yen-Hsun Lu. At the score of 2:5 Lu was no longer able to continue.
