ATP: Henri Leconte on Alexander Zverev’s “He has to slow down”.

Alexander Zverev plays an outstanding season, which he will crown with his first participation in the ATP finals. But at the Grand Slam tournaments in 2017, the youngster was not very convincing. Tennis legend Henri Leconte has some advice for you.

This year, Germany’s number one has already won the Masters-1000 tournaments in Rome and Montreal, and has played itself in fourth place in the world rankings. He will not only be qualified for the ATP NexGen Finals, but will also be eligible for the ATP Finals in London.

But Zverev was not at his best this year, especially in the Grand Slams:”A Wimbledon round of sixteen is his best major result. Former French Open champion Leconte feels that Zverev is rushing too much.

“He has put too much pressure on himself,”Leconte told Sky Sports,”Everyone expects a Grand Slam victory from him, but he needs to slow down a bit. He should try to enjoy tennis more and have fun again.”

Zverev is the number one seeded player in the ATP-500 tournament and is one of the tournament’s favorites. According to Leconte, Zverev is sometimes damaging his doggedness:”He has tremendous potential, but he is very hard on himself. People see him as a future number one, but it takes time. He mustn’t rush too hard!”
