ATP-Challenger: Melzer in Lima against countryman Kicker

Gerald Melzer is in the semi-finals of the $50,000 ATP-Challener in Lima/Peru – where he will meet a potential Davis Cup partner.

Melzer beat Argentina’s Facundo Bagnis 6:3,6:4 in the quarter-finals and now meets Nicolas Kicker in the game for the final. The Argentinean with Austrian passport also beat the Portuguese Gastao Elias in two sets.

Melzer, currently ranked 138th, is looking for the third Challenger Final of the year. In Cortina (Italy) and Quito/Ecuador (Italy) it wasn’t quite enough to win the title.
