The woman of the hour, Caroline Wozniacki, will take a break after her grand triumph at the WTA finals in Singapore. That means four weeks not to pick up a bat.
Whether Caroline Wozniacki really deserves a holiday? Absolutely! With a phenomenal triumph at the WTA finals in Singapore and her first title at the tournament of the best eight players of the season, the Danish player will put aside her tennis racket for the time being,”I am very proud of myself and how I played all week long. I really fought my way through,”said Wozniacki after her biggest career success.
After the last event in 2017 for the Danish woman, however, it’s over for the time being. According to the 27-year-old, the preparation has to wait:”I want to end the season with a high. I’m not going to touch a racket for four weeks,”confessed Wozniacki.
However, she is satisfied with her season and described the year as “great”:”In about a month’s time we will start with the preparation, but until then rest is called for,” she added.
In the current calendar year, Wozniacki returned to the top 10 and was able to extend her trophy cabinet to 27 titles with the title in Singapore and Tokyo. The current number three in the world was at the top of the ranking in October 2011. In the current constitution, a return to the WTA throne is not ruled out – perhaps four weeks without clubs might even help.
