ATP: Nadal after fight in the quarter-finals of Paris-Bércy

Rafael Nadal is in the quarter-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 Tournament in Paris-Bércy: world number one defeated Pablo Cuevas in three sets and will now face qualifier Filip Krajinovic.

There are not many tournaments left that Rafael Nadal has not won in his illustrious yet. The last ATP Masters-1000 in Paris-Bércy is part of this short list. And Pablo Cuevas did not make it easy for the world’s number one to take the next step in Palais Omnisports. 6:3,6:7 (5) and 6:3 after just under 2:20 hours was the final result for Nadal, who will meet Filip Karjinovic on Friday in the second quarter-final after 2:00 pm.

The Serbian qualifier had destroyed Sam Querrey’s ambitions for a place on the grid in London in round two, but also won in three sets against Nicolas Mahut in the round of sixteen.

Nadal would face the winner of the semi-final against John Isner in a possible semi-final. For these two players it’s still about a place at the ATP finals in London.
