ATP Challenger: New tournament series awards Wild Cards for Indian Wells

The American hardware and software manufacturer Oracle is launching a new series of tournaments in the USA, which will comprise four events, starting in the 2018 season. Those players who score the best in these tournaments will receive a Wild Card for the ATP Masters in Indian Wells.

The Oracle Challenger Series, which includes two ATP Challenger Tour and two WTA 125k Series tournaments, will be launched at the beginning of next season. The events are held as two combined events between men and women.

“Tennis players from the United States need more opportunities to compete and earn a living in their home country,”said Oracle CEO Mark Hurd in a press release,”These events are designed to allow these players to collect prize money and world ranking points in a meaningful way.”

The first tournament takes place from 20. till 28. The second week will take place in Newport on January 24th. February to 4. March in Indian Wells. The most attractive part of the Oracle Series is that the top-ranked players receive a wild card for the main event of the prestigious Masters-1000 tournament in California. In addition, the new tournaments will each pay out 150,000 US dollars.

“Tennis players in the U. S. are eager for multiple tournaments like this one,”said ATP boss Chris Kermode,”This series will lead to big things in America,”said Steve Simon, CEO of WTA.

The two best ladies and gentlemen of the Oracle Series are in Indian Wells. The Masters takes place from 5. till 18. March.
