ATP Challenger: Successful run by Gerald Melzer continues

A few days after his triumph in Lima, Gerald Melzer is once again in the final four of a Challenger tournament: this time in Guayaquil.

Gerald Melzer’s run on the ATP-Challenger-Tour continues: Austria’s number two had no problems in the quarter-finals of Guayaquil with Roberto Quiroz also Ecuador with 6:1 and 6:4 and is already in the semi-finals. The affair lasted less than an hour, while Melzer only had to defend himself against a break ball, but he had to serve his opponent three times.

In the preliminary round, the seventh seed Melzer, who had succeeded in Lima last week, is expected to finish seventh with Hugo Dellien from Bolivia, a man who came to the main field of the event, which was endowed with 50,000 US dollars, as a successor.

Sebastian Ofner is in the quarter-finals at the Challenger in the German Eckental, where the Wimbledon surprise man will face Bosnian Mirza Basic this Friday.
