ATP: Final in Paris!

In a tiebreak thriller, qualifier Filip Krajinovic has sensationally played his way into the final of the Masters Tournament in Paris-Bercy.

At the end Filip Krajinovic kissed the Center Court in Paris-Bercy – his fairy tale continues: 6:4,6:7 (2), 7:6 (5) after two and a half hours for the Serbian who had made it to the main draw.

The only break in the match was won by Krajinovic, who scored 3-2 in the first half of the match, after which both players held their serve until the end. Isner was unable to make use of five break chances in total, and Krajinovic did not have a chance after his only break in the first set.

In the first tiebreak, Isner served mercilessly through, Krajinovic’s few mistakes were punished; in the tiebreak of the deciding set, Krajinovic was already 0:3 and 2:4 behind, but was still able to turn the match. With a strong forehand return at 5:5 he provided the decisive mini-break and served shortly afterwards with a serve-forehand combo.

The 25-year-old Krajinovic was once regarded as the greatest talent from Serbia after Novak Djokovic. A lengthy shoulder injury detained the former Bollettieri protégé in 2011; Krajinovic again dropped out for a long time in 2016. This year he made it to the top 50 in the world for the first time. He is currently in 77th place.

His opponent is wanted in the game between Jack Sock and Julien Benneteau. In a tournament win, Sock has the chance to qualify for the ATP finals in London; Benneteau wants to achieve his dream of winning a tournament in the final phase of his career.
