WTA: Zhuhai: Görges shoots his way to the final

The run of the German number one goes on: Julia Görges after a strong performance in the semi-final against Anastasija Sevastova in the final of the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai.

Görges swept her opponent from the pitch with 6:3 and 6:3 and thus remains on the road to success.

The first games of the match were fiercely contested and Görges stayed on course mainly due to their strong and solid serve. However, her opponent had to give up her feathers at the beginning and handed over her service to the Porsche Team Deutschland player. Görges won six more break points in a row and secured the first round with 6:3 after 40 minutes.

The second set was completely in the direction of Görges, who took their chances and quickly took the lead with a break and 3:0. The world’s No. 18 continued to be on the serve, serving her way into the WTA Elite Trophy final after just 72 minutes of play.

Her final opponent will be determined in the second semi-final between CoCo Vandeweghe and Kerber-Schreck Ashleigh Barty.
