This doesn’t usually happen to a superstar like Rafael Nadal: on the way to training at the Masters-1000-Tournament in Paris-Bércy, the world number one was stopped by a security guard and not let through at first.

The Spaniard had to cancel before his quarter-final match against eventual finalist Filip Krajinovic injured. The left-handed rider’s knee is a problem and questions Nadal’s participation in the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

Before his rejection, however, Nadal experienced a curious scene. The Mallorcan wanted to go on a training course in the Parisian district of Bércy when he was suddenly stopped by a security guard:”Access is forbidden here,”explained the security department and asked the apparently unknown man for his name. Nadal answered truthfully with “Rafael Nadal”. This did not seem to impress the young man much and reacted with a “Rafael Nadal? All right” and allowed the superstar to go ahead.

The funny scene can be found here in the video:

The 31-year-old has probably not experienced such an action for years and apparently accepted the misunderstanding without muttering. The American Jack Sock won the title at the last Masters of the year and took the final free place at the finals in London.
