Winter sports: Shock news!

David Poisson died on Monday in a fall in the downhill training of the downhill team in the Nakiska ski resort in Alberta, Canada. The French Ski Association announced that the details of the tragedy were not known at first.

The 35-year-old speed specialist Poisson was surprisingly third in the World Championship in 2013 in Schladming. In 2010 he took part in the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where he finished seventh in the downhill run.

“Crushed by this news, Michel Vion, President, Fabien Saguez, Technical Director, and all the other members of the team share the pain of relatives in these difficult times,”the association’s announcement said.
