It’s almost the same game every year! As always, the decision as to who of the HTT top stars will be allowed to participate in the HTT Tour Final, the most prestigious event of the year, will be made in November-HTT-500 at the UTC La Ville. And 26. The 8th edition of the final indoor classic at Altmannsdorf branch promises a lot of excitement this year regarding the annual Master’s qualification. At least the 120. In the 6th season, 5 players still have the chance to win one of the three vacant Tour Finals tickets. A report by C. L.
The surprising November-Masters-Series 1000 title win by Kevin Köck from last Tuesday evening was a big blow for all of the fast-traded models in the Masters-Quali category. The 19-year-old WAT Landstrasse punk champion has catapulted himself into an excellent starting position in the fight for the three free Masters places with his first major masters-series 1000 and 1000 ranking points, putting the competition under tremendous pressure. Just a week ago Serbia’s youngster Filip Markovic felt like a safe master’s starter, but now the 23-year-old from TC Donaufeld has begun to tremble for the first Masters participation despite 14 seasonal tournaments and 3300 points in the Race to La Ville. The situation is hardly better for the 2-time Tour-Finals-Champion Philipp Schneider and HTT-Wimbledon-Finalist Christoph Beutler, who after the last Masters-Series-1000-Tournament from last weekend slipped to the last two Top Ten ranks of the HTT-Entry-List and thus slipped out of the places necessary for a Masters participation.
The outcome of the November Masters Series 1000 tournament was bitterly bitter with the victory of Kevin Köck, but for Mathias Wagner, who was apparently comfortably in the ranking two weeks ago, he feverishly awaited his second HTT Tour Finals participation after 2014, before the injury devil and then the devil of WAT Landstrasse struck first. Wagner himself was condemned to watch because of injury, but had to watch as Köck distanced him by 385 points. Christoph Beutler is now the first opponent of Wagner for a Masters starting place. And Wagner is in front of 120. Seasonal tournament under pressure, he needs a semi-final participation to catch up with Beutler. And even then it could not be enough, according to Köck, Markovic and Schneider. So there will be excitement at the last big tournament weekend of the year.
