Milos Raonic and his successful coach Riccardo Piatti will go their separate ways in the future. The Italian announced the end of the four-year working relationship via Twitter.
“An exciting time is coming to an end. It is time for me to take on new adventures and challenges. I wish Milos every success and I will never forget the milestones we have reached together,”writes Piatti about the social media.
Under the guidance of the experienced Italian, Raonic played his way through to the Wimbledon final in 2016. The Canadian finished his most successful season with John McEnroe, a US legend, as third in the world rankings.
Raonic was thrown back by numerous injuries during this season, but this did not prevent him from entering his second week at the Majors in Wimbledon, Paris and Melbourne. With his new coach Javier Piles, the current number 24 in the world wants to start the new tennis year successfully at the ATP World Tour 250 tournament in Brisbane.
Riccardo Piatti will in future concentrate more on his academy “Piatti Tennis Center”, which he opened a few months ago in his homeland.
