After a great year of winning the WTA finals in Singapore, Caroline Wozniacki and her coach Sascha Bajin parted ways.
The year 2017 could hardly have been better, but there will be no continuation for Caroline Wozniacki and Sascha Bajin in the coming season. This was announced by the resident of Munich on Wednesday via Twitter.
“Thank you for letting me be part of your family. It was an incredible year,”Bajin continued.
Why the two of them broke up was not known. When asked about his plans for the future, the coach replied:”I don’t know yet. Let’s see, I am optimistic, but I would like to have some consistency at last. I just want to work, I love this job.”
Bajin took over the coaching job alongside Wozniacki’s father Piotr at the beginning of the year and took the Danish rider from 20th place to 3rd place in the world, with the highlight of her victory at the WTA finals in Singapore two weeks ago.
Bajin was previously the Hitting Partner of Serena Williams for eight years, and subsequently worked alongside Victoria Azarenka and Sloane Stephens. The last partnerships were short due to Azarenka’s pregnancy and Stephens’ protracted injury.
