WTA: Victoria Azarenka wants to return to Auckland

Comeback in Auckland, something has been done for a good cause: this is the timetable of Victoria Azarenka for the coming weeks.

Victoria Azarenka, it can be assumed, took part in the fate of her Belarusian team colleagues a few days ago in Minsk. The Fed Cup team led by Aryna Sabalenka and Aliaksandra Sasnovich had made it into the final against the USA without the former number one in the world, but only had to admit defeat in the decisive doubles match between Coco Vandeweghe and Shelby Rogers.

Azarenka would have loved to play himself, and the custody dispute over son Leo made the Belarussian woman, who has slipped back to 205th place, indispensable.

The comeback on the WTA tour is now scheduled for ASB Classics in Auckland, Azarenka has received a wildcard for this event,”My expectations are as high as ever,”the two-time WTA major winner is quoted on the WTA website.”I haven’t been to Auckland for a very long time and I hear from many sides how great the tournament is.”.

Apart from Azarenka, Caroline Wozniacki and Julia Görges are expected to be the two ladies who won the season finals in Singapore and Zhuhai.

However, Victoria Azarenka has not disappeared completely from the news these days – she is making rackets and tennis shoes from her personal stock available for an auction of the Belarusian embassy in Lithuania.
