ATP: How the division of work in Team Djokovic works

Novak Djokovic is currently working on his comeback to the ATP Tour following a persistent elbow injury. The Serbian recently surprised the tennis world by bringing Radek Stepanek and Andre Agassi into his team of coaches. Now Stepanek explained the division of work within Team Nole.

Andre will only be travelling to the majors,”Stepanek explained,”I will start my daily work with Novak,” the newly formed trio has trained together for the first time in the last few days at the Piatti Tennis Center near the French border of Italy.

The impression Stepanek got from these joint training sessions is a very positive one:”We talked to each other and it immediately felt like we were on the same wavelength. The most important thing is that we understand each other well and know what we really want.”

Djokovic himself, however, told us that Agassi had persuaded the 30-year-old to bring Stepanek on board,”At Andres suggestion, I started to convince Radek to become his new coach (note),” said Djokovic. The new season is just around the corner, and we have a long way to go until I’m on the level where I left off.”
