Handball: Sweden makes it to the next round of the last sixteen

The sixteen-final line-up at the Women’s Handball World Championship is becoming more and more concrete.

Sweden’s selection was secured early in Group B on Thursday by a clear 38:24 (17:13) defeat of Argentina in Group B to secure their place in the top 16. This means that in seasons A and B, the four sixteen-finalists have already been determined before the last matchday, only the positions within the groups are still open.

The German team had already qualified for the knockout round in Group D on Wednesday. The team of national coach Michael Biegler will play against Vice World Champion Netherlands on Friday for the group victory.

The opponent of the German Handball Association’s (DHB) selection comes from Group C, which will also not be back in action until Friday.
