WTA: World class field at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2018: Sharapova, Muguruza, Halep and Co.

Also the 41. Porsche Tennis Grand Prix lures the world tennis elite to Stuttgart. Five current top 10 players have already played for the traditional tournament from 21st to 26th September. till 30. Among them Simona Halep (Romania), number 1, and Garbine Muguruza (Spain), number 2 in the world.

Simona Halep played the best season of her career to date in 2017. She won the “Porsche Race to Singapore”, the official qualification for the WTA Finals and the tournament in Madrid. At the French Open in Paris she reached the final. Garbine Muguruza won her second Grand Slam title in Wimbledon after the French Open 2016.

Other players from the top 10 of the world ranking, who will be playing in the Porsche Arena in 2018, are Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic/Number 4), French Open winner Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia/7) and Caroline Garcia (France/8). US Open Champion Sloane Stephens (USA) is another Grand Slam winner. Tennis fans can also look forward to superstar Maria Sharapova, who has won the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix three times in a row between 2012 and 2014 and has attracted worldwide attention at the 2017 anniversary tournament with her comeback on the professional tour after a break of over a year. Angelique Kerber, the Stuttgart winner of 2015 and 2016, will also be there again.

A new edition of the Stuttgart sensational final of 2017 is also possible: the French player Kristina Mladenovic, currently number 11 in the world, has already announced. And winner Laura Siegemund is confident that after her long injury break, she will be able to compete in front of her home crowd in a completely fit manner.
