ATP: Brother Mischa is sure:”Sascha is the best player in the world”.

Mischa and Alexander Zverev make up the most successful pair of brothers that German tennis has ever produced. Misha, ten years younger than Mischa, recognized early on the talent for the little Sascha, which he already places above all others.

“I’ve known him for twenty years now,”said Mischa Zverev in a good mood at the ZDF sports studio,”I knew from day one that Sascha would be a good tennis player. For me, despite his current ranking (number four in the world ranking, note) he’s already the best in the world.”

The 30-year-old Mischa has been on the ATP Tour as a professional since 2005, and Sascha starts his fifth season in 2018. At the highest level, they’ve never faced each other before. If the younger of the two were to prevail in a possible clash, the Misha would not be any further disturbed:”If he were to win against me, it would only be a sign that I was right,”he said with a wink.”And if I win, I’m happy, because then I’m the older and stronger in the family, so that’s a win-win situation”.

Alexander Zverev won three tournaments this year and was also in the final at two other tournaments. Only in the Grand Slam tournaments, however, it has not yet wanted to run so smoothly.

Talking about what he still lacks to become the very best, the two-time Masters Champion said:”There is no such word as’ perfect’ in tennis,”but he added:”unless it comes to Roger Federer.” Maybe he can take a look at his brother for the further career path, because:”It would be a great help if I had his volleys, because mine is still the only one of them”.

Here you can find the complete contribution of the two of them in the sports studio from last Saturday:
