Drumming! Former number one in the world, Lleyton Hewitt, is making a comeback at the Australian Open 2018. He will join Sam Groth in the doubles competition, who will finish his career after the Grand Slam.

“It’s gonna be a lot of fun,”Hewitt told the Australian TV station 7 News.”This is the happy slam, I’m gonna enjoy it a lot.”

“We’ve been training a lot and we’re going to go out on the pitch to give it a serious chance,”said double partner Groth.

Hewitt played his last singles match at the Australian Open about two years ago when he was 3-0 in sets against the Spaniard David Ferrer in the second round. Since then, the 36-year-old has been captain of the Australian Davis Cup team, which the German team will face in the first round of the World Group at the beginning of February.

To this day, Hewitt is the youngest number one in the world. When he reaches his top position on 19. November 2001 “Rusty” was only 20 years old.
