From the garage to an internationally dominant player – there are indeed, the big success stories. And Tennis Warehouse is one of the most outstanding. The company celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and was founded at a time when the Internet was a visionary idea, but by no means a mass communication or e-commerce tool.
In 1992, the world was still a long way from social networks and smartphones. But that’s where Tennis Warehouse was founded in the USA, as a small, regional tennis shop in San Luis Obispo, California, where the company’s headquarters are still located today. Ten years later, the company became the market leader in the USA, becoming one of the largest companies in the industry by 2007 at the latest. Worldwide.
However, Europe was missing on the map of Tennis Warehouse. In 2008, however, the time had come: The old continent has been supplied by Tennis Warehouse Europe since then, and the shop is well-known to almost every European tennis fan.
Tennis Warehouse has been the official partner of ATP since 2000, and a year later the cooperation with WTA followed. Since this year Tennis Warehouse is also the official webshop for Roger Federer. And for other top stars like Stan Wawrinka, Maria Sharapova or the Bryan Brothers.
