ATP: Novak Djokovic congratulates basketball legend

Novak Djokovic has not failed to congratulate another sports legend on a special event and reveals a little secret.

Novak Djokovic is without question one of the top stars of his sport. The former number one has made a name for itself above all through his sensational winning streak in the years 2011 to 2016 and is one of the best tennis players of all time. However, the Serbian has not yet achieved legendary status – not yet.

On the other hand, things are different for the American Kobe Bryant. The former basketball player played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA from 1996 to 2016 and has been a legend of the sport for quite some time. Last Wednesday, Bryant was given a special honour. Two numbers of the 1.95 meter man’s shirts will no longer be given to new players in the future. The 39-year-old, who ended his career last year, ran for ten years with the number eight and ten years with the number 24.

On this occasion, Djokovic did not miss the opportunity to thank his cross-sport colleague on his Instagram account.

The picture shows the “Djoker” and Bryant; among them Djokovic wrote “One of the best basketball players of all time and my personal favorite. Congratulations, Kobe!”

Djokovic will make his comeback in 2018. Due to an elbow injury, the Serbian has not played a match since July.
